Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees in Canada rose to 3.6% year-on-year to $1,201 in May 2023, after a 2.9% advance in the prior month. It was the highest increase in earnings since November last year, with 19 of the 20 sectors reporting gains. The largest gains were seen in forestry & logging (+10% to $1,404), utilities (+6.7% to $2,155) and other services, excluding public administration (+6.5% to $1,025).
