The rate reached its highest level since June 2021, with unemployment levels rising by 28 thousand to 2.61 million, surpassing market expectations of a 13 thousand increase. Compared to the previous year, the number of unemployed individuals increased by 192 thousand, while job openings decreased by 108 thousand to 769 thousand. Regional variations persisted, with Bremen and Berlin reporting the highest unemployment rates at 10.7 and 9.1 percent, respectively, while Bayern and Baden-Württemberg maintained the lowest rates at 3.4 and 3.9 percent.
