Russia Corporate Profits Fall 11.4% in Jan-Jun
Corporate profits in Russia fell 11.4 percent to RUB 14.8 trillion in the first half of 2023 from RUB 16.71 trillion in the corresponding period of the previous year. Profits fell in manufacturing (-28.5 percent); mining (-17.6 percent), in particular coal mining (-52.9 percent), transport & storage (8.5 percent) and wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (-51 percent). By contrast, profits in electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning jumped 84.4 percent.

Russia Corporate Profits Fall 21.3% in Jan-May
Corporate profits in Russia fell 21.3 percent to RUB 11.83 trillion in the first five months of 2023 from RUB 15.02 trillion in the corresponding period of the previous year. Profits fell in manufacturing (-28.7 percent); mining (-30.2 percent), in particular oil and natural gas production (-17.6 percent) and wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (-55.7 percent). By contrast, profits in electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning jumped 60.5% and in transport & storage rose 14.2%.

Russia Corporate Profits Drop 12.6% YoY in 2022
Corporate profits in Russia amounted to RUB 25,925.6 billion in 2022, down 12.6% from RUB 29,649.8 billion the year before, reflecting the impact of Western sanctions against large companies and entire sectors of Russia's economy, particularly the financial and energy sectors. In December alone, Russian companies' profits amounted to RUB 2.18 trillion, a 22.5% drop from RUB 2.81 trillion in December 2021.
