Passenger car registrations in the European Union increased 15.2% yoy to 851.2 thousand units in July 2023, marking the 12th consecutive month of increase. Most markets posted solid growth, including the four largest: France (19.9%), Germany (18.1%), Spain (10.7%), and Italy (8.7%). Meanwhile, battery electric car registrations in the EU surged by 60.6% to 115.9 thousand units in July, accounting for 13.6% of the market. For the first seven months of the year, EU car registrations grew by 17.6% from the same period in 2022 to 6.3 million units.
