Mexico Auto Exports Rise to 2-1/2-Year High
Auto exports from Mexico surged by 20.5 percent year-on-year to 286.291 thousand units in June 2023, reaching the highest level since November 2020 and marking the seventh consecutive month of growth in auto exports. Notably, this is also the largest increase observed since September 2022, mainly boosted by robust sales from General Motors (61.3 percent), Nissan (39.4 percent), and Ford Motor (60.9 percent).

Mexico Auto Exports Growth Quickens in May
Auto exports from Mexico surged by 14.2% from the corresponding period of the previous year to 279,274 units in May of 2023, after a 5% increase in the prior month. It marked the sixth consecutive month of growth in auto exports and the strongest since February. Among major export brands, shipments increased for General Motors (+7.5% to 59,144), Ford Motor (+66.2% to 35,015), Nissan (+9.9% to 28,102) and Toyota (+21.7% to 27,229).
